Welcome Chabot Students

As a first-generation college student to now your Dean of Special Programs and Services, please know I am here to support you through your educational journey! Our dedicated team members will help you navigate your college path to a certificate, degree, and/or transfer to a 4-year university.

We understand you have work, family, and personal challenges that make staying focused while in college difficult. Please explore our website to learn about the resources and learning communities that are available to you! We have seven learning communities that focus on transfer and your area of interest. Each learning community specializes in providing packaged transferable classes, individualized counseling, and building community. Our resource programs provide money for school, individualized counseling, school supplies, and more. Please fill out the Special Programs Interest Form to help our programs determine which learning communities and resource programs are best for you!

Athletics

Provides student-athletes educational planning, degree mapping, and ensuring athletic eligibility and transferability.

Change It Now (CIN)

For students interested in social change and justice, multicultural literature, and leadership development.

MOVEMENT

Centered around Asian American and Pacific Islander history, literature, and experiences.

Puente

Centered around Chicano & Latinx history, literature, and experiences.

Umoja

Centered around celebrating the history, literature, and experiences of the African diaspora.

ACE/DSPS Learning Community

Serving the needs of students with physical, psychological and learning disabilities.

EOPS/CARE

Supports students who are educationally and socio-economically challenged, and are single parents.

HPN

Supports and prepares middle and high school students in the Downtown Hayward Neighborhood for college and career.

TRIO: ASPIRE

Provides academic support to low-income and first-generation students, with a goal to transfer to a 4-year university.

TRIO: ETS

Supports first generation and low-income middle and high school students with college readiness and enrollment.

TRIO: EXCEL

Provides academic support to low-income and first-generation students, with a goal to transfer to a 4-year university.

GSP

Supports foster youth with a supportive environment to overcome education barriers.

Fresh Success

Provides financial and academic support for Applied Technology program students.

CalWORKs

Supports welfare recipients with financial resources, counseling, career planning, childcare and employment opportunities.

PACE

Learning community for working adults aiming to complete their first 2 years of college.
